Who we are
The Multnomah County Cultural Coalition (MCCC) works to foster a community that is rich in cultural offerings and increase the likelihood of cultural participation among the broadest spectrum of county residents. Multnomah County is home to over 100 heritage, humanities and arts non-profits and we strive to support them. MCCC is the re-granting board of the Oregon Cultural Trust in Multnomah County. Monies donated to the Cultural Trust come back to Multnomah County and are distributed as grants to cultural organizations. MCCC’s maximum grant award is $2,000.
|What can MCCC grants support?
MCCC grants support a wide variety of activities. Examples of possible grants include expenses for activities such as interactive art exhibits, reading and discussion groups, a neighborhood art fair, projects to preserve an aspect of the county’s cultural history, performances, workshops, lectures, and other projects that clearly deepen cultural participation. Programs must be open to the public, and broadly advertised.
|Who can apply?
To be eligible for a MCCC grant, applicants must have a project that serves Multnomah County residents. Eligible organizations or groups are those whose primary purpose is to provide general benefit to the public. This includes registered neighborhood associations, groups of citizens with a declared common purpose that is consistent with the goals of MCCC and organizations with an 501(c)(3) status. However, IRS 501(c)(3) status is not required.
|What are MCCC’s grant goals?
MCCC supports proposals that foster partnerships and collaboration in the areas of one or more of the following:
· Making culture accessible and affordable to Multnomah County Residents
· Support organizations and activities that emphasize cultural diversity
· Encourage new cultural activities
· Enhance arts education and cultural awareness among youth
